Where we Ate

  1. Gulden Valk- Cheap biers here in the Vrijdag Markt. €2.10 Hoegaarten and €2.40 Carlsberg.
  2. Brasserie Vaudeville- Lunch here of waterzooi de poulet and spinach lasagna for €30 with two Bavik beers. Located in the Korenmarkt.
  3. Pink Flamingo Bar- On a recommendation from our hostess, we went here. Quite smokey, but an obvious locals bar in Ghent. Onderstraat at Schepenhuis.
  4. Tollhouse Bar- On the Korenlei. Absolutely gorgeous spot at night, and the bar's size didn't disappoint; it was maybe 10 feet wide. Address: Graslei No.11.
  5. Gekroonde Hoofden- Unbelievable that we'd find an all-you-can-eat ribs joint in Belgium, but we did. €23.20 prix-fixe menu for a-y-c-e ribs, an appetizer, and dessert. They had four different types of ribs to pick from.
  6. Ter Burg- On another recommendation from our hostess, we attempted to make it here but it closed at 8pm, so we didn't technically "eat" here. Looked very good and cheap though-- €8 prix-fixe lunch!

Things we Did
  1. Walked around the outside of Gravensteen Castle.
  2. Walked around the Patershol area and Vrijdag Markt.
  3. Explored the Korenmarkt.
  4. Visit to St. Bavo's Cathedral to see Jan Van Eyck's Ghent Altarpiece, "The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb." €3 with headset.
  5. Night pictures of the Korenlei, and drinks at the Tollhouse Bar.
  6. Got lost in the "Rabot" part of town trying to find Ter Berg for dinner.
