Virgin America Launches Service To John Wayne Airport!

I happened to be checking something on the Virgin America website, and would you look at this? The signature Richard Branson brand is coming to Orange County! Below is a snippet from the online news release on their website:

Award Winning Airline Expands Service on the West Coast San Francisco — Jan 5, 2009 — Virgin America, the California based airline that is reinventing domestic air travel, today announced its plans to launch service to John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, California. Beginning on April 30, 2009, Virgin America plans to fly five daily flights from its home base at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to SNA, with low introductory fares starting at $59*. SNA will be the ninth destination airport in the airline’s growing network. www.virginamerica.com

This is great news! Now, you can jet up to San Francisco for a cheaper long weekend, and have more money to spent at French Laundry in Napa or The Slanted Door in the city.
