How Much is that Doggie in the Window (Seat)?

Put away your costume, Fido... you won't need that set of wings any longer!

Southwest Airlines has announced that pets are now welcome to "move about the country" with their passengers. For a fee of $75 each way, you can bring your small dog or cat on-board your flight, although they must remain in their carrier for the duration of the flight and the carrier must fit under the seat in front of you.

Unlike other airlines, pets will only be allowed in the cabin on Southwest flights, and won't be allowed in the cargo hold. And unfortunately, pets won't earn Rapid Rewards Credits at this time. I wouldn't be surprised if that changes down the line though--JetBlue gives out two additional TrueBlue points each way for passengers traveling with their pets.
