Courtney's Cupcakes
Saturday was a busy, busy day, but not busy enough to miss a cupcake and wine pairing event at Anne's Boutique Wines. The event was a big success, and the tiny tasting room was overflowing with friends, family, and people with a sweet tooth who had wandered in off the street.
Courtney created four fall cupcake flavors that were paired with dessert wines chosen at the hands of Anne. The pocket-sized cupcakes were the perfect complement to the sweet wines, and for $10, the pairings went something like this:
1. Maple Brown Sugar Cupcake with 2008 Malvasia Rose
2. Carrot Cake Cupcake with 2006 Vidal Ice Wine
3. Apple Cider Cupcake with Martin & Weyrich Moscato
4. Cinnamon Cupcake with Zinfandel Port
Courtney's Cupcakes are delicious, but most importantly, unique. She does a terrific job of working with her patrons to produce quality cupcakes that don't look like they were mass produced on an assembly line (they're just as good, if not better, than Sprinkles).
For more information or to place an order, visit her website at www.courtneyscupcakes.net.
